Every night, I crawl into bed,
so hoping for sleep to consume me.
But every night, I just lay there,
for hours with my thoughts wandering to one person.

The reason is you.

At school, I try to pay attention,
but I always find it hard.
For I can't seem to hear the teacher...
not catch one word that she says.

I'm thinking of you.

And when I get home,
my mom asks how my day was.
But I only briefly answer her question,
and run off to my room to look at a picture.

It's a picture of you (and me).

For so long, I was lost:
afraid to bring myself out.
I was scared that others wouldn't like what they saw.
But I'm not like that now;
I can really say that I'm proud of who I am.

My teacher was you.

Before I met you, I was alone.
No one really knew the true me.
But you listened and learned about my true colors.
You knew how hard it was for me,
you never judged me because of the difficulty.
